10 year anniversary and Bday

We had my Bday and 10 year anniversary together on October 16th (actual anniversary date). My mom was able to be here for my Bday party, probably one of the best gifts ever. I LOVE MY MOMMA!! All of our friends came over to celebrate with us! Rich of course delivered salsa and homemade banana bread (delicious). JP made banana pudding, Keyes made margaritas (that made Laura's face turn red), and between my friends I think Melissa I had a GREAT American Cookie Cake (it's not my Bday without one). MT put together a great slide to celebrate our years together.. What a great way to remember the time we have spent together.

Red Ribbon Week

Jayden came home from school today talking about what a wonderful day she had. They are learning about drugs and the effects it has on your body. She started to tell me about the different types of drugs: alcohol, cigars, cigarettes, and WEED! I tried not to laugh that she just referred to marijuana as Weed, but it was soo funny. My first reaction to her was that anyone referring to the drug as weed is smoking it. She told me it was a little girl in her room and that if you put "The Weed" in paper and roll it up you smoke it like a cigarette. Gotta love what other kids can teach your kids.

Graham Cracker Visits

MT's mom arrived on Saturday 10/3 for a "vacation" she visited with Arynn and loved the kiddos. Glad she was able to visit.

Arynn Smiled!! 10/4

Today I was sitting in the recliner with Arynn saying "You are soo Big" and she looked into my eyes and gave me a big grin. It was so incredible. This was on Sunday 10/4. Then today Wednesday 10/7, Arynn smiled at Jayden. Arynn is growing so fast it is crazy to watch.

Arynn Reyce 6 days

Jack Turpin - RIP

Jack Turpin.. This monkey lived such a short, but incredibly full life. I need to tell the Thomas side of Jack. Jack lived behind us we shared a back gate. He was such a happy little guy. Jack was the ONLY boy in this neighborhood full of girls really full- like 12 girls and one "little man". Jack LOVED Uncle Mike. He would come to the gate to peak through to see if he could see Mike. I would help out and keep Jack if Kristen and Dan ever needed anything. In 2008, Jack was a peacock on Halloween. A group of us were together walking through ShadowGlen and he was the CUTEST peacock ever. We kept Jack for a couple of nights when Baby Kate was born. It was lots of fun- reminded us how busy a little guy is all the time. The first time I heard Jack say my name and point to me while saying it was at a MISD board meeting. He about jumped out of Kristen's hands to get to me. I immediately took him and held him as long as he would let me. Madison and Jayden went over to play often - they love going to the Turpins. Madison would chase Jack around the house and he giggled the entire time. My fondest memories.. We would laugh at Dan when we would hold Jack up and walk the fence line as if he were a puppet. So funny!! Then my last funny memory.. Right after I had Arynn, the next week Kristen made us her yummy lasagna and she dropped it off and ran back home. She called a couple of minutes later and asked if we had Jack. I had left the house to take the girls to dance, but knew Jack was not at my house when I left so why would he be now. I said NO.. She said my back door is open and the dogs and Jack are gone. Wouldn't you know.. He and Finn made it out the door and through the gate and Jack was hanging out with Mike. Jack touched soo many lives in his way too short life. And I can tell you that Kristen and Dan should have NO regrets as parents because they did it right. They spent quality time with him and loved him so much. It is because of Jack's death that I started this blog. I don't want to miss anything because we all know that tomorrow is not a guarantee.

Arynn Reyce Thomas

Arynn Reyce Thomas- Her story. We found out that we were pregnant with Arynn the night of Jennifer and Ryan Palm's baby shower. It was a VERY big surprise for all of us. We took at least 3 pregnancy test to confirm it was true. Stephanie and James Burden were the first to know because they were at the house when I took all 3 test. Then the McGovern's were the 2nd because we were all going to the shower together. I told JP at the shower (still in complete shock).

Arynn was a stinker from the beginning. First, the surprise of being in there. Second, she never let me sleep. Third, she would not turn head down. I was up all night long from June-Sept 4th. When I say all night, I really mean all night. Arynn would move and turn and kick all night long and sleep really well in the morning. Breech baby... We went in for an Ultrasound on August 19th and Arynn was breech. I FREAKED out and was crying and Madison then started crying it was a scary thought. I think it was the thought of the unknown more than anything else. I was worried about having a C-Section and recovery and being in the hospital. So on Sept. 4th, we went in to North Austin Medical Center for a procedure to physical turn Arynn. They gave me a spinal block and off to the OR we went. It was a HORRIBLE experience. The pressure and just the physical movement was just not good. Dr. Cowan is amazing and tried so hard to turn Arynn, but she was NOT moving. Arynn's heart rate went bonkers. Right after the procedure her heart rate was in the 80's - Cowan expected and prepared us for that. The problem was in the recovery room. When I was in recovery, I started contracting and after each contraction Arynns heart rate dropped a lot. She was racing at 180 and it would dip down to like 120-130. Because of the stress on Arynn and the unknown of sending me home. I was rushed back for an emergency C-Section. Arynn was born on 9/4/09 at 3:40. She weighed 6lbs 7oz and 18 1/2 inches long.

Arynn's first visitors were The Palms. JP and Ryan brought Madison and Jayden to the hospital. Madison and Jayden stayed at the hospital the entire time we were there. Other visitors... Burdens, McGoverns, Keyes, Smith, Sherwoods, Fayes, and Listers. We have such wonderful friends.

When we left the hospital on 9/6 Arynn weighed 6lbs 2.5oz. On Tuesday 9/8, Arynn met Dr. Eady and at that appt she was at 6lbs 12 oz and looked GREAT!! On 9/21, Arynn had another appt and weighed in at 7lbs 12 oz.

Arynn is growing so fast already. Her sisters LOVE her soo much. Still not getting much sleep, but what a joy this kiddo brings to all of our lives.
